“Life is too short to have
bad sex.”

- Dr. Ruth

I believe that everyone should have the right to a happy and healthy sex life. I am particularly passionate about supporting people in embracing their sexuality and living their best sexual lives because I know the society and larger world we live in are not always the most sex-positive. And if you are experiencing any type of worries, difficulties, or discomfort related to sex, it can be really hard to talk to anyone about it. You might have spent hours searching online to see if anyone else has experienced this, but you’re still not sure what to do about it or where to get help. While sexual activity is not expected to be perfect for everyone every time, if you’re feeling overwhelmed or frustrated with your sex life and it’s starting to affect other aspects of your life and relationships - then sex therapy may be a good fit for you.

Sex therapy is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on helping people who are seeking to enjoy a pleasurable and healthy sex life. Just like you might talk to a therapist when you are experiencing depression or anxiety, if you are struggling with sexual problems or concerns, Sex Therapy can help you address those issues. Sex Therapy is provided by a licensed therapist with specific training in human sexuality and sex therapy, as well as other aspects of mental health - because we know that so often sexual issues can overlap with other issues in our lives and relationships, and looking at the whole picture is an important part of this work.

The process of Sex Therapy involves discussion of your sexual concerns in a confidential, non-judgmental environment; education about healthy sexuality; exploring other aspects of your life and history that may be impacting your sex life in the present; strategies and techniques you can practice at home to help you address your concerns; and may include coordination with other treatment providers such as medical doctors and physical therapists.

Common issues sex therapy can help with:

Loss of libido or low sexual desire

Difficulty with arousal

Erectile dysfunction

Premature ejaculation

Concerns related to sexual performance

Pain or discomfort during sexual activity

Difficulty reaching orgasm

Sexual trauma

Coping with sexually transmitted infections

Sexual self-esteem and empowerment

Relationship issues such as mismatched desires, differing
sexual interests, communication challenges, or loss of sexual connection

Sexual issues related to illness, disability, aging, or other life changes

Exploration of sexual orientation and/or gender identity

Incorporating BDSM/kink and other sexual fetishes into your sex life

PLEASE NOTE:
Sex Therapy does NOT include any sexual contact or sexual activity during therapy sessions,
and sex therapists do not engage in or observe any form of sexual activity with therapy clients.

Sex Therapy is for people of all genders and sexual orientations, and in all types of relationship structures including monogamous, ethically non-monogamous, and polyamorous relationships. You do not have to be in a relationship (or even be sexually active!) to see a Sex Therapist - and if you have a partner or partners, you may choose to include them in your sex therapy sessions, or not, depending on your specific needs and concerns.
