Polyamorous &
Ethically Non-Monogamous Relationships

"Love seems to be something that keeps filling up within us. The more we give away, the more we have to give."

- Fred Rogers

The umbrella of ethical non-monogamy (ENM) includes a wide variety of relationship structures and styles: Polyamory (which can range from hierarchical relationships to relationship anarchy), solo poly, throuples, quads & more, poly/mono relationships, open relationships, swinging, don’t-ask-don’t-tell, “monogamish” relationships, and more. Although there is growing awareness about polyamory and ENM in media and mainstream culture, it’s not always something you can talk about with other people in your life - or something they will understand. That’s where a poly-friendly therapist can help!

Maybe you are curious about opening up your relationship, and wondering how to talk about it with your partner. Maybe you are in an established poly relationship but want to improve your confidence and communication skills to strengthen your relationships with your partners. Maybe you are struggling to cope with jealousy or other emotions that can come up in the course of relationships. Or maybe you’re coming to therapy to work on issues related to anxiety, depression, or something else - but you want a therapist who is already knowledgeable about ENM relationships so you don’t have to explain everything.

I care deeply about helping clients in poly/ENM relationships navigate challenges and become the best versions of themselves in a way that supports and validates their relationships. I do not tell people what the “right” way to be poly or ENM is - because there is no one “right” way! People are often looking for a rulebook about how to make these relationships work, but the beauty of alternative relationships is that you get to rewrite or throw out the rules. Working with a poly-friendly therapist can help you to figure out what you need in your relationships, what feels authentic to you and what works best for you and your partners.

Please note: At this time I am only taking on new clients for individual therapy - however, if you are seeing me for individual therapy and decide you would also like to pursue relationship therapy with your partner(s), I know some excellent therapists I can refer you to for this work!
